In Architecture, the Traditional Indian Knowledge system not only encompasses principles of design, layout, spatial geometry, and construction created by our forefather in the olden times, but it also lays the foundation or a reference point to be utilized in the contemporary world and at current architectural practice.
The objective is to align human dwellings and structures with natural forces to ensure harmony, balance, and well-being. This is influenced by spiritual, cultural, and environmental factors.
Traditional Indian knowledge system in Architecture is also referred as Vastu Shilpa Shastra wherein specific norms and systems have been written thousands of years back with intricate detailing on how to construct buildings or homes, or even complex Temple complexes and Temples , using nature and natural processes which even till date have served as a guiding tool for us to create modern buildings.
But eventually and over a period of time this age old wisdom has lost its practical application and remains hidden in books that adorn the old library shelves hence thereafter there has been little updating of this knowledge
At Vastuworld we propose to amalgamate these age old processes and systems of the Traditional Indian knowledge of Vastu Shilpa Shastra with the concept of building biology keeping in mind the changed geology and demographics • so as to create more wholistic spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functionally harmonious with the environment.
